SCGJWD Signs Memorandum of Understanding with SCIeco for the Purchase and Transportation of Waste Fuel

On February 6, 2025, SCGJWD signed a memorandum of understanding with SCIeco for the purchase and transportation of RDF-3 and RDF-2.5 waste fuels, to be used as alternative energy in cement factories and waste-to-energy power plants. SCGJWD will invest in the machinery required to produce and deliver this alternative fuel to the Thungsong cement plant, with an average quantity of 20,000 tons per year for a period of 3 years. This collaboration also involves the Phuket City Municipality, which will process municipal waste from the province into RDF waste fuel by improving its quality, reducing moisture, sulfur, and chloride levels to make it suitable for use as alternative fuel.

SCGJWD is also exploring opportunities to expand this business plan to other provinces across the country, aiming to contribute to Thailand’s goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
