On October 26, 2023, the Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Department participated in an emergency response exercise scenario involving a leaking hazardous goods container and a fire incident at A3 port terminal, in collaboration with port officials from Laem Chabang, municipal firefighters, Laem Chabang Municipality Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Unit, and Sawang Prateep Rescue Team.
During the simulation, a hazardous goods container collided and its tailgate opened due to a malfunction in the loading equipment while loading goods onto the ship. This caused the chemical drums to spill out, leading to a chemical leakage. The firefighting team managed to control the situation, and the SCGJWD team successfully contained and plugged the damaged chemical drums to stop the leakage. The exercise aimed to raise awareness about proper procedures, enhance safety measures, and ensure a clear understanding of roles and responsibilities during emergency situations.
