Restoring Watershed Forests and Local Ecosystems in Chiang Mai
The Mae Sa Mai Royal Project Development Center is located in an area that plays an important role in Chiang Mai’s ecosystem and watershed resources. Therefore, the activity focused not only on tree planting, but also on the use of native tree species suitable for the local environment, green area maintenance, and knowledge sharing on ecosystem restoration practices with local organizations.
During the activity, more than 100 SCGJWD executives, employees, and staff members participated in tree planting, landscape improvement, and learning activities on the role of forests in natural carbon sequestration, biodiversity conservation, and long-term ecosystem resilience.
Collaboration with Local Partners for Natural Resource Conservation
The project was supported by several partner organizations, including the Mae Sa Mai Royal Project Development Center, Chiang Mai Provincial Police Volunteer Unit, and the Energy, Environment and Economics Management Research Unit, or 3E, under the Multidisciplinary Research Institute, Chiang Mai University.
This collaboration reflects a joint effort among the private sector, government agencies, academic institutions, and local communities to support practical natural resource conservation and promote environmental management practices that are aligned with the local context.
The opening ceremony was honored by Mr. Prach Asirapongporn, Security Affairs Deputy District Chief of Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province, who presided over the event. Representatives from partner organizations, SCGJWD executives, and employees also participated in the activity.
